You know it's kind of impossible for me to write all of these stuffs without helps from other people.
Actually, I was inspired by my favorite lecturer Mas Yudhi (IYS)'s notes on facebook, then I got some help to write the outline from Kak Mbe. And finally Miss Thera, my second favorite lecturer gave me some corrections to improve it.
So....................This is it!
Getting into an age of sophisticated technological
developments, we, humans, are worried about our own existence every so often.
We sometimes imagine that someday this world will be manipulated and ruled by
robots. Most likely, it is all because we know that robots can work better than
us, and they certainly never whine about their jobs. Moreover, they never get
exhausted or sleepy while doing their tasks. On one hand, we appreciate their
performance since they facilitate us with their definite capabilities, so we
can save more energy and time to do something else, but the existence of robots sometimes makes us anxious that robots can
put an end to human civilization. However, in point of fact, the strongest
rival that must be faced by humans is our own self. It has been an open secret
that, nowadays, humans’ morality is fading away. We, humans, are only concerned
about activity
that can give us particular advantages. Even some people admit that they
do crimes because they
have to satisfy their daily needs. It is clear that we no
longer pay any attention
to help
others. As a result, all we
do is work, work, and work without realizing that it can make
us become robots. In brief,
it
is easy for us to be a robot
since we already have the characteristics of a robot. If you want to become a robot in four days, you might
want to follow these
four steps.
If you want to be a robot, on the first day, do not
interact with other people. As a robot, you have to know that emotion is the
only one body part that a robot cannot have. It is also the primary body
part that makes
robots and humans are poles apart in general. However, there
is no use in thinking that not having emotional feelings will make us
inferior to those who own ones. It is extremely obvious that, as we can see,
creatures with emotional feelings will feel depressed or even cry over
unimportant issues
just because other people hurt their feelings, and we know that it is a waste
of time. However, if we are forced to interact with humans, for example to make
a study group in class, make sure that we do not say nonsense phrases such as “Please”, “Thank you”, and “I
am sorry”. It is because those twaddle words contain certain feelings to appreciate or to
respect others. For a second
time, you have to remember that robots are already perfect as an individual and
able to do any task alone. That is why interacting with humans is such a waste of time.
On the next day, do nothing, but follow the system.
After doing the first step, it is clear that robots will never have any
friends. Therefore, if we, robots, are still students, do not think of other activities, except study hard,
graduate in time, and find a job. Also, for the reason that we live in this money-hungry world,
we have to find a job that
can give us a lot of money. Moreover, it is pointless to join an
extracurricular or organization because, eventhough those activities go along
with our hobbies, it cannot give us money. In addition, we do not need to find
a job according to our passion. It does not matter whether we love our job or
not. The most important thing is that we can fulfill our daily needs. If we get
a job that we dislike, do not quit. Keep going to work every
morning and get the salary by the end of the month. We do not need to fight against anything, not even against
some issues that we do not agree with. All we have to do is get everything done like
a clock work because it is
the regular system that has been constructed and accepted by society since a
long time ago.
On the third day, put it in mind that happiness is not
necessary. Based on the fact that we no longer have any emotional feeling, and we just live
by following the system since the first two days, it is clear enough
that happiness will not
even be
counted in our life goals
list. Typically, in their lives, humans will do some efforts to find a partner
or a dream job that can make them happy. However, we do not need to do that
because, deep in our hearts, as a robot, we do not care if we are happy or not.
What matters the most is whether or not we have accomplished our job based on
the program or the system that has been set up.
On the last day, erase all memories about your past. Usually, humans can work better after
learning from their past mistakes. However, since on the first day robots’ emotional
feelings will have already died, instantly, we, robots, cannot feel whether our
memory will give us pleasure or the other way round. That is why there is no
such thing as nostalgia in robots’ dictionary. Additionally, we do not have to
know our historical background because we cannot differentiate which one is
right and which one is wrong. Briefly, our past is so worthless that we have to
erase it.
In
the end, we know that, at all times, humans cannot think clearly about what
actually happens in their lives. They are more concerned about something which
has not happened yet. It is so ironic as well to see how humans are afraid that
they will be defeated by technology or robots, when, actually, the biggest
enemy they have to fight against is their own selves. Unconsciously, day after
day, they have become different individuals because of their own ignorance
and denial. In short, if you
have stopped interacting with others, have lived by merely following the system, have
believed that happiness is
not essential, and have removed all memories about your past, then you have successfully become a robot,
which is the real rival
you should
worry about.
